Volunteering and Training with the GDRP

The GDRP periodically recruits and trains volunteers to assist with research and outreach activities. If you would like to receive information about upcoming training opportunities, please fill out the form below.

Opportunities Include:

  • Field Assistant Volunteer Program – assist researchers on the boat during dolphin surveys (you must be 18yrs+ and have a very flexible weekday schedule)
  • Land-Based Dolphin Monitoring – record dolphin sightings from waterfront locations
  • Dolphin Ambassadors – attend outreach and education events to teach citizens about Galveston Bay dolphins
  • Office/Lab Volunteer – assist with data input and analyses (need to commit dedicated number of hours/week)
