Research Assistant – Galveston Bay Foundation
The Galveston Bay Foundation is seeking a part-time, temporary summer research assistant for the Galveston Bay Dolphin Research Program. The Research Assistant will help with the collection, entry and analysis of bottlenose dolphin population data in Galveston Bay, Texas. The position will entail a combination of field and office work (both in-person and remote). Marine mammal field research and photo-identification experience are required. Familiarity with ArcPro GIS, FinBase and R are highly desirable.
Research Intern – Environmental Institute of Houston
The Environmental Institute of Houston is seeking a dedicated summer intern to assist with two grant funded research programs – The Galveston Bay Dolphin Research Program and the Texas Clean Rivers Program. Work will entail the collection and management of water quality and bottlenose dolphin population data, in and around the Houston-Galveston region of Texas. The position consists of a combination of field and office work split between both programs during May/June – August/September 2023 (4-month commitment, start and end dates may be flexible). Previous wildlife management and/or marine mammal coursework, field and photo-identification, boat handling and water quality experience are highly desirable.
